The life
Bram Stoker was an Irish writer who spent twenty-seven years as business manager to the actor Henry Irving, running London's Lyceum Theatre and writing at night. Bedridden until he was seven, he grew into an athlete at Trinity College Dublin. Dracula (1897) took him six years of research into folklore and Transylvanian geography he never visited, and earned him little in his lifetime.
