David Lindsay

David Lindsay was a Scottish writer whose A Voyage to Arcturus (1920) sold fewer than six hundred copies in his lifetime and left him convinced he had failed. He worked at Lloyd's of London for twenty years before writing it. C. S. Lewis credited it as the model for his own planetary novels, and it is now regarded as one of the strangest and most original books in English.
