The life

Edgar Wallace was an English writer of astonishing productivity, illegitimate and raised by a Billingsgate fish porter, who left school at twelve. He reported the Boer War, then wrote around 175 books and countless stories, at one point accounting for a quarter of all books read in Britain. He died in Hollywood while working on the script that became King Kong.
