The life

Eleanor Atkinson was an American teacher and journalist from Indiana who wrote for the Chicago Tribune under a pen name before turning to books. Greyfriars Bobby, her retelling of the Edinburgh terrier said to have kept watch at his master's grave for fourteen years, is written in thick Scots dialect and has never been out of print; Disney filmed it in 1961.
