Elinor Glyn

Elinor Glyn wrote Three Weeks, in which a queen seduces a young Englishman on a tiger skin, and spent the rest of her life famous for it — banned, parodied, and read by everyone. In Hollywood she coined the word It, decided which stars had it, and taught Rudolph Valentino to kiss a woman's palm rather than her hand, because the wrist was more interesting.
