G. K. Chesterton

G. K. Chesterton was an English writer of enormous output and enormous size — six foot four and twenty stone — who created Father Brown, the priest-detective modelled on a friend who had heard too many confessions to be shocked. He wrote a hundred books, debated Shaw and Wells in public for decades, and converted to Catholicism at forty-eight. He habitually forgot where he was going.
