The life
Henryk Sienkiewicz was a Polish novelist writing for a country that did not exist on the map, and said he worked to strengthen the hearts of his readers under partition. His Trilogy made him a national institution, and Quo Vadis brought him worldwide fame and the Nobel Prize in 1905. He spent the Great War in Switzerland organising relief for Polish victims.
