The life

Irving Bacheller was an American journalist who founded the first newspaper syndicate in the United States, buying serial rights and selling them on — he introduced Conan Doyle and Stephen Crane to American readers, and published The Red Badge of Courage in instalments. He then wrote his own bestseller, Eben Holden, a portrait of the North Country of his childhood.
