The life

Mary Wollstonecraft was an English writer and philosopher whose A Vindication of the Rights of Woman (1792) argued that women appear inferior only because they are denied education. She went to Paris to witness the Revolution, survived a suicide attempt, and married William Godwin when pregnant. She died days after giving birth to the daughter who would write Frankenstein.
