Neil Munro

Neil Munro was a Scottish novelist and journalist from Inveraray, born illegitimate to a kitchen maid, who left for Glasgow at eighteen and rose to edit the Evening News. He wrote serious historical novels of the Highlands, and — almost as a joke, under a pen name — the Para Handy tales of a Clyde puffer captain, which are what Scotland remembers.
