The life

Robert Hugh Benson was an English priest and writer, son of the Archbishop of Canterbury, whose conversion to Rome in 1903 was a public sensation. He wrote historical novels of the Reformation, apocalyptic fiction, and ghost stories told in the voices of priests. Made a papal chamberlain, he preached to enormous crowds and worked himself to death at forty-two.
