Robert Louis Stevenson

Robert Louis Stevenson was a Scottish writer who abandoned engineering and the law, spent his life in flight from tuberculosis, and drew the map of Treasure Island for his stepson before writing a word of it. He settled at last in Samoa, where the islanders called him Tusitala, the teller of tales, and took up their cause against colonial officials. He died there at forty-four.
