Klein wrote the play, the biggest Broadway hit of its decade, and died on the Lusitania in 1915; this is the novel made from it. The lion is drawn from the trusts everyone in 1906 could name, and the mouse does the work. Illustrated with 60 full-page plates — paintings by Kensett and Bierstadt among them.
