The life

Edmund Flagg was an American writer, journalist, lawyer and diplomat who served as United States consul in Venice and wrote a valuable early account of travel on the Illinois and Missouri frontier. He also produced novels, plays and histories, among them a sequel carrying on the story of Dumas's Count of Monte Cristo for American readers.
