Elizabeth Garver Jordan

Elizabeth Garver Jordan reported the Lizzie Borden trial as a young newspaperwoman, edited Harper's Bazar for many years, and as a reader at Harper & Brothers accepted the first novel of Sinclair Lewis. She marched for suffrage, wrangled twelve novelists into writing one book together, and turned out her own crisp stories of American women who know their own minds.
