The life

George Barr McCutcheon was an American novelist who invented the imaginary kingdom of Graustark, launching a whole vogue for Ruritanian romance in America. He sold the book outright for five hundred dollars and watched it earn a fortune for someone else. He also wrote Brewster's Millions, filmed at least ten times, and served as president of the Authors League.
