Holman Day

Holman Day was an American novelist, poet and newspaperman from Maine, whose books are filled with the loggers, river drivers and small-town politicians of his native state. He wrote verse in Yankee dialect before turning to fiction, and later founded a film company that shot silent pictures in Maine using local people rather than actors.
