J. S. Fletcher

J. S. Fletcher was a Yorkshire journalist who wrote more than two hundred books — histories, pastorals, and the detective novels that made his name when President Woodrow Wilson publicly declared himself a fan and American sales exploded overnight. He worked fast, set his mysteries among cathedral closes and northern mill towns, and was a fixture of the golden age's first shelf.
