The life

Kathleen Thompson Norris was an American novelist who lost both parents at nineteen and worked as a bookkeeper and clerk to raise her younger siblings before her first novel appeared. She became one of the highest-paid writers in the United States, publishing some eighty books about women, family and money, and campaigned publicly against American entry into both world wars.
