Lord Dunsany

Edward Plunkett, 18th Baron Dunsany, was an Irish writer who invented his own pantheon of gods in The Gods of Pegāna and wrote much of his work in longhand with a quill at Ireland's longest-inhabited castle. He was a chess and pistol champion, fought at the Easter Rising and in the trenches, and shaped fantasy from Lovecraft and Tolkien to Le Guin and Gaiman.
