The life

Mabel Winifred Knowles was an English novelist who published as May Wynne and produced some two hundred books in forty years — historical romances, girls' school stories and adventure tales. She never married, lived quietly with her mother, and wrote at a pace that kept several publishers supplied at once; her Jacobite and French Revolution novels were the most popular.
