The life
Vicente Blasco Ibáñez was a Spanish novelist and republican politician from Valencia, jailed some thirty times for his agitation and once wounded in a duel. He founded a newspaper, tried to build a utopian colony in Argentina, and wrote The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, which became the biggest-selling novel in America in 1919 and made Rudolph Valentino a star.
