The life
Ralph Connor was the pen name of Charles William Gordon, a Presbyterian minister who served as a missionary in the mining camps and ranches of the Canadian Rockies and wrote to raise funds for the work. His novels of frontier faith sold in the millions, making him the best-selling Canadian author of his day. He was a chaplain in the Great War and later mediated labour disputes in Winnipeg.
