Connor was Charles Gordon, a Presbyterian minister who worked the camps and ranches himself, and who chaired a real conciliation board; the labour dispute here is written by a man who sat in those rooms. Illustrated with 53 full-page plates — paintings by Gully, Gibb and North among them.
