Morley was a Rhodes Scholar and a founder of the Saturday Review who made bookishness charming to a generation; he and Haley published this in 1919, the year the Amendment passed, and the prophecy is funnier now than it was then. Illustrated with 60 full-page plates — paintings by Béraud, Evenepoel and Q469063 among them.
